How did it recognize the other koyukkuri if she couldn't...
On an unrelatednote, this isn't related to the one where a mother is offering "strange yukkuris" is it? Probably not, as the other one is too dead to be the second marisa in that picture. That and the mother appears to recognize it.
this crap's confusing. the page before had changing numbers of yukkuri, both of them were missing hats, yet only one was recognized. given the top panel here, though, the multiplication earlier was probably to indicate movement.
The multiplication had me confused, but movement lines makes more sense. The deal with the accessories is that Reimu probably remembered she had two kids, but upon seeing accessory-less yukkuri (ultimate uneasy) and the dead body, she forgot about the fact there's two and jumped to the conclusion in typical yukkuri illogical logic way.
my apologies for all the confusion, yes the additional yukkuris were used to indicate motion, and to explain the part about the mother only acknowledging one of its offspring, mother reimu gave for giving that the stomped marisa had to be her baby because it was the first thing it saw when expecting to see her babies, seeing the filling coming out of what she recognized/thinks as her child was a great impact that cleared her mind and the only thing it can think about is "justice".
Aside from what was already mentioned, you could also have made the dead koMarisa keep her hat but squashed, taking in account she was stepped on without losing her hat. This could've made more sense for this part.
Still, I liked this story and the brutality to the koMarisas.
