Yes, the concept is a lot more interesting than having to know every details. As long as the important points are highlighted.

Also, the whole "fill in the blanks" your imagination does makes the story more interesting that what's actually going. Sort of like how Touhou (and recently KanColle) got so popular.

    Considering that the author never had the chance to actually tell the story, we'll never know for sure. All we have are setpieces of an aborted introduction.
