One Yukkuri Place

D'aww. She got the Reimu shithead to feed to Flan, but Flan likes her. Doubtful when she gets bigger that she'll eat Reimu anyway.

Could be the beginning of a rather funny story.

  • I find it funny I can almost always see these endings coming:

Good yukkuri who works hard and earns badge? Gets abyuse addict anon.
    Bad yukkuri/ill-mannered/shithead? Has even-tempered/nice anon.

Is there never a spot where a good yukkuri can meet a good anon?

  • It probably hurts like hell, but it's truly divine to respond in the way she did. To be able to sense the pain of another and not fear when they lash out at you? That's some high-end empathy.

  • Inspiration comes in many shapes and forms. I have unusual things that can inspire me. Once I'm inspired, it's like a mass accelerator -- the more it spins on the simple subject, the more magnetic polarity it pulls, the more gets stuck to it, the larger the idea becomes. I felt like I wanted to write a story about these creatures for a long time. Oh, and my story isn't going to be a bad end -- it simply is going to be a story. A long story about my life if I met yukkuri. I sort of came up with a few things to start with. What yukkuri do I want to have? What do I want to have happen? Do I want to try my hand at a clan? Would I even let myself have that many? What would happen if this happened? What are things that I don't like about the yuniverse? Would it be possible to change them? What kind of jaw-dropping stuff could I do? What other things could I do?

There's only a little down, and I have a ton of material to run off of. I don't even know where I could write an actual ending.

  • What Marisa is not right now: a scum
What Marisa is right now: at rock bottom

It's a horrible, horrible place to be. She is, literally, at the bottom of the pit of despair. She only looks like that because if she didn't, she'd probably have died from anti-yukkuritis.

  • Be as critical as you like! I'm fine with that. Just know the fourth chapter was, yes, a travesty, and I'm in the process of redoing it. Yes, it's on YFT -- When I Met Yukkuri. Some long reads.

'until what happened to Alice.' Yes. That's the final consequence of her. That is her at rock bottom -- the pit of despair, the point at which any human can't recognize anything. People who've reached that point almost make you want to cry -- if you have any compassion at all. It was like in Gutter Trash story, where the mom has the dream that she's a pet again. I saw that part and instantly thought, "This is it. She hit rock-bottom."

Anyway, like I said, I've always been curious to see if these writers would choose life. Read what I've wrote -- you'll see what I mean. It's not about sunshine and flowers, it's about, given the option, you choose to help, and not hinder, or even worse, not show apathy. Apathy is worse than anything. This little yu was a victim of that.

Well, I've taken enough of your time in this discussion. <3 I'm like you, I take a neutral view of yukkuri. Sure, some of them pop their mouth off and say stupid things, but I work in retail, and let me tell ya -- people say stupid things. Anyway, gotta get back to finishing my current chapter. I have a LOT of writing, and a -LOT- of stuff to write (and possibly add to the canon).

  • I feel like I'm the only one who would look at them and think, 'd'aww...'

<_< Maybe it's all the small animals I've had in my time, with them obsessing with you as their parental figure.

From what I can understand, Reimu is chiding him for cursing at his game.

Lulz. Mister human shouldn't yell at his video game. It's uneasy! x3

Well, as far as the idea of "how much punishment/bad karma is enough", I think you have to look at the whole of the situation. I don't recall Marisa reflecting upon her choices. Pretty much, all she wanted was to get back to that elevated state of easiness that even regular yus don't know of. If a creature or being is unable to use honest introspection, I say concepts like karmic debt and repayment can't apply. Are yus unable to do that? Well, they're shown to plot courses of action, so reason (even if questionable) is possible. By extension, her actions prolonged her misfortune.

Sorry you had a tough time growing up. I got f'ed with as a kid, too. I got over it; some don't do it as quickly and some never do. Hell, even yus screw over each other.

Yus screw each other over to survive -- as horrible as that is, I can't reflect poorly upon it. Survive or die, and even if they do it that arrogance and indifference, it's not much different from people who are at the very bottom stealing from one-another to feed their poor habits.

I do look at the whole situation. She bred with a stray, and for that, got kicked out, her children and family are all dead, lost her accessory, then her life. Yeah, just pastries, but it would have been nice to see a twist of her actually getting back with her mister human. Lot of these stories felt like they were all just trying to outdo True Happiness; be the most tear-jerker display of hardships of what it means for a pet yukkuri to lose it all.

And of course the yukkuri wants to be a pet again. Wouldn't you? Compare her life now to what it was. She was hoping getting a gold badge (even though it was actually fake) would allow her the privilege to pick a mate -- but her mister human wanted to get her a mate himself. Sure, she should accept the consequences of her actions, but at the same time, I don't think she had much time to reflect on it (and was also not made to reflect on it).

It's all kind of a catch-22, since this is a long-finished story, though I'm happy to say, this is what truly started my story. Heck, this is the Marisa my character adopts (assuming you read my story xD). I just wonder, what would happen if some of these writers chose life over death? Hypothetically speaking, of course.

  • Being that the inside of them is paste, perhaps her core adapted to what she sees from other animals. The ends probably have digested at this point, even if they were pointed. How interesting of an evolution.

Hey, I'm not trolling you. I know we've had a couple of strained comments at each other, but I think you're a pretty easy miss? mister? It's just you're pro-yu and I'm the middle ground and a shitty yu isn't worth defending.

Well, looking at the whole story, yeah, Marisa here made a bad choice by mating with a stray, and thinking the gold badge would give her some kind of leverage.

    Childish and selfish.

Does the rest of this story seem like it fits the crime? I mean, how much punishment and bad karma is enough? Besides, I wasn't making a point about Marisa or anything, I was making a point about a human being taunting a lesser creature just cuz why not? :P I was bullied as a kid, so yeah, this hits a sore spot in my psyche.

    That's right!

Pastries are for eating, not raging.

Take it easy, mister human! Sweet-sweets are for eating, but yukkuri are for taking it easy with mister human. :3

I guess this was posted without bumping 8 months ago. Jerry Ledesma is trolling again and bumped this thread, else I wouldn't have replied.

It's bad to jump to conclusions in a chance encounter. Worse yet, to champion for shitty yus like this Marisa when you know the whole story. Worst of all if Anon hands you your ass or has you arrested.

To watch a creature beg for something that's theirs, then plead with you to take care of it? And your response is to just burn it? I'll find out the rest later.

Keep in mind, I have a neutral look on yus. It's not like it was demanding sweet-sweets and telling him to drop dead easy. The guy gave her a catch-22 choice: your hat or your baby's, neither of which are the anon's.

And yes, I use the no-bump feature to not necrolize threads like this. :P And I read the whole story. And it still makes me cry a little, for the poor Marisa who could never get a second chance after one bad decision.
