Danger doesn't apply in the latter case and since we don't see whats under (I've seen them use bedding either) we can't say that there isn't protection or that there is anything to indicate that protection would not be there.
It could be like I've read on some Legionnaires serving in Indochina in the 50s: They felt they were going to die anyways so they would ordain their helmets with bright yellow stripes in defiance of this. Ironically enough, some survived.
Between Bats and Coyotes I would rather have yukkuri, at least they are somewhat cute.
Coyotes have a nasty habit of just howling for the entire night. but given that this is the only picture, can it be marked as family_friendly since the concerns brought up don't really apply here, at least yet.
