One Yukkuri Place

Welcome to the new OYP

Posted under General

Hello!
On 2020/04/22, the site successfully migrated to a more modern version of Danbooru.

Some notable changes:

  • The UI is slightly different due to the new version of Danbooru
  • Some features, while still available, have their "older history" messed up. This was inevitable, but they will work as expected from here after.
  • Some tags had to be deleted. However, the tags on OYP have always been a mess so this much is nothing. If you see a post with suboptimal tagging it would be useful if you could fix it.
  • Some usernames had to be changed. A cursory glance shows those users hadn't logged in since forever, but just in case let's announce it.

There are definitely some bugs here and there.
Just report them, they'll be fixed if possible.

P.S. The server is now paid by the community as a whole through donations.
This post was changed by a spammer, eventually I'll fix it.
It's not required, but it will help a lot easy!

Updated

thanks for the work that I was always too lazy to do!

Also a reminder: as part of the update, the ownership of the site has also been transferred to EasyV. Please feel free to donate to help the upkeep!

Thank you for your hard work.

I don't have any money at all right now, but I'll be sure to donate some in the future.

Take it easy~

Hello. My name is Mario I have been here since about 2012. I recently was enjoying some pools on here when suddenly the website stopped working for several days, and to be honest I was quite worried about this site. I just wanted to say, I am very glad to see that everything here is OK. I was a bored college student when I found this website but now that I'm an accountant I wanted to say that if you guys are ever in a serious financial situation, I'd be happy to donate enough money to keep this site running. I may not come here frequently anymore, but if a day had to come where suddenly I'd never be able to enjoy the works of Kiriraita and other artists I've really enjoyed here, I'd feel as though something truly unique and wonderful had been lost, and I never want that to happen.

I must really be under the weather to have taken this long to notice, lol. Belated yayifications.

EasyV, you're awesome. Thought you ought to know.

...stupid question, how hard would it be to lose FontAwesome in favor of Unicode?

If it's anything more than just editing a CSS file then forget it. But puffing all the number boxes away with uBlock is a pain so if I could share the list and save others who hate/can't use remote fonts the trouble then that would be cool.

No, sorry.

remote fonts

OYP doesn't use remote fonts.
I looked everywhere but requests for fonts all go to the main domain (yukkuri.shii.org).

If by "no" you mean "not possible" then nevermind. I got it working with uBlock anyway.

EDIT: these are the rules I'm using, in case they're useful to anyone:

That's still remote though? At least, I thought "remote fonts" meant "not from the users's computer"... whatever they're called, that's what my problem is.

Uhh, I had misread what you wrote but anyway it can't be done without rewriting parts of the system and I don't want to.
It could be possible, but it's not easy, both as difficulty and as yukkuri.

Well, hardly anyone has Font Awesome installed on their computer... and "remote" can also mean from a 3rd party site (think of all those websites connecting to ajax.googleapis.com...)
Anyway, see above.

Gotcha. Forget I said anything, I don't want to sound like an ungrateful whiner after you've already done so much hard work!

On that note, thanks for the HTTPS, just reading about how to get that working made my head asplode. (And yeah, first-party is definitely better than third-party, so thanks for that too, even if it doesn't help me right now.)

I have some question,OYP is support IQDBs service? And Do OYP have any plan to support i18n?

Forgot to address these, sorry.

1) Not really. What's stopping me mostly is that it seems to require an account which I don't want to set up; also, there's this: https://github.com/danbooru/danbooru/issues/4198

2) I don't really know how to hook i18n into Danbooru, so the answer is "not right now".

I guess I'm missing the whole point about fontAwesome: what is it and why don't we want it? I think our stuff is already unicode capable as well since I've typed japanese and chinese on here before.

Also not quite sure what you mean by remote fonts, seems like we're hosting all the fonts we're using.

Also can't remember what was broken about the site before due to it being stuck in test mode: anybody remember? (I vaguely remember page numbers were an issue)

Also seems like we don't have captcha on the login page. We need to have that enabled to fight russian spam bots if it comes back.

FontAwesome is used for various symbols here and there.
At least 99% of those symbols are actually part of Unicode already so the font itself is not needed, but the removal has technical limitations.

There were also tag-related issues and I think the frequent database problems where actually due to the test mode, but I don't have any conclusive data to support this suspicion.

Yes, sorry. Unfortunately things came up and had to shift priorities so now captcha on the site is lower on the list.
