Whipper Snappers this days! in MAH times we respected the mikos! *more old timer grumbles*
I dunno gramps, but I'm pretty sure shrine maidens back then earn the respect and devotion from the faithful, not expecting the masses to follow blindly like sheep. Or maybe I'm not taking it easy as a religious critic. I'm any case, I'm with the yukkuri in this situation.

Yeah because Reimu just sits her butt all the day doing nothing, uh? Actually no, we have like 10+ touhou games that say otherwise, and that without incluiding the extra material.
As i said once and will alway say, the Miko doing "nothing and being ultra lazy" is nothing more than a meme, not what is really going on.
Besides Yukkuris are lazier and far more unemployed than Reimu by default, at least any non Yuuka type.

It's a meme, but not entirely untrue. The lazy part stems from the fact that Reimu is talented enough that she doesn't really train, in stark contrast to Marisa who works her ass off studying magic yet has trouble "keeping up" with Reimu.
If Reimu actually put some effort into training, she'd probably be on a similar level as Moonbitch (Watatsuki no Yorihime). SSiB spoilers: Yorihime kicked the collective ass of Reimu, Marisa, Sakuya, and Remilia. She blocked a Master Spark with her freaking sword.
but yukkuris are a meme, so are memes selective or are memes all living in the same universe? If not, then why do we select only some memes while not others? What if a meme relies on another meme and we don't select that meme then which meme would we end up with and--

tl;dr version: Nerdrage.
Haha, No. No she didn't.
Ms. Mary-Sue Godmodder kicked the asses of 4 touhou characters that were at the weakest they've ever been in their entire lives. Only one used their best spellcard and even it was nerfed into a foam pool-noodle, three of them didn't had their characteristic items/weapons and the only one taking it seriously was under the effects of her major weaknesses the entire time.
Seriously, it was like they were all put into hyper-nerfed easy-mode. Then again that entire comic and indeed most of the printworks are filled to the brim with plot holes and series inconsistencies(and that's a fairly impressive feat considering how vague the series is with it's concepts). I'm fairly sure the printworks are just a shameless cash-grab and/or sanctioned fanfiction.
It's because of this kind of crap that I basically view the touhou printworks in the same way I view the Nintendo CD-i games.
Hey, you guys wanna guess what my hot-button is for the touhou series? I'll give you a hint: It's not about toasters.

Did you even read the comic or did you hear about it offhand? Reimu "won" but surrendered because Yorihime threatened to stop using danmaku rules and actually attack her with her sword. (In which case, they would "both lose")

Funny, because I never mentioned anything about the Hakurei miko being lazy. If anything else, I was referring to the situation in Ten Desires, and the brewing religious war in the horizon.

Well everybody use the meme to take pot shots on Reimu and claim it's canon.
Ten Desires was the last one right? because i hadn't. at least, read much about it. Lately i hadn't been in the mood to keep up with Touhou outside of pics and "my" Hot-Button Material.
But seriously? you expect a war, even a religious one, to take place in Touhou and Gensokyo? They probably will danmaku each other for the lulz and then take a break drinking tea and eating snacks, like always.
A war between the Space Marines and Yukkuris is far more likely to happen than any war happening in gensokyo.

Except that Miko and her Taoist faction are being set up to be antagonists from here on. There's no hilarious misunderstandings (SA, UFO) or petty rivalry (MoF) here: using religious persuasion they fully intend to replace the Hakurei shrine as the foundation of Gensokyo, and will take down whoever stands in their way.
Reimu, even after learning about their goals, only aggravated things with her "I don't care, I'm going to win in the end anyway" attitude.

Bwah?
I think you're reading too much into the fanon. Okuu wanted to conquer the surface with nuclear weaponry and Byakuren's idea of "peace" is killing off any humans who resist the "oppressed" youkai.
