Man this may increase the ammounts of pets "abandoned" by the owners for marrying and having kids without them allowing it. Considering how many House-Yus a owner can have in their house without realizing it, things won't go well unless the pet is high grade quality and properly trained, and you fumigate your house often to prevent House-Yu infestation.
Well house yu's have less paste, right? So that means they are dumber right? Since they can't hold as many memories or whatever... So I don't think that house yu's will ever be able to be high quality because they can't obtain the same levels of intelligence as yukkuri.

That's if you go with pet quality and intelligence going hand in hand, though. You can have a quality pet yukkuri that's dumb as a box of Corn Flakes so long as its has the basics down.
Breed/train house yus to have survival instincts (don't be aggressive to people, don't try eating each other, etc) and you'll have a quality, if simple, pet. Since they're so small having them run around freely is a Bad Idea, they'll do just fine in a cage where they aren't going to need to worry about badges and stuff like that.
I wasn't talking about the quality of the house-yu, but the quality of the normal pet yukkuri to, you know, avoid mating with stray yukkuris of any kind, or at least ask the owner if it can be allowed?

After seeing that story of the Marisa, Alice and Reimu House-Yu i'm not sure if it would be that much better, like, they seem to remain as self destructive at ever, just, easier to deal with the same way a hamster or small rodent pet is easier to deal than a dog or a cat (if you ignore the bites).
I always hate things that break the existing fanon, but house-yu's really seem to be ringing true with me. I always like koyukkuri interactions better than full grown yukkuri, and these house yu's pretty much stay koyukkuri their entire lives lol.
Well it's not much of breaking but just, well, adding an evolution or mutation. For all we know they are exactly like the average yukkuris, just smaller, this include shithead attitude, birth methods, etc.
You have to remember that fanon is incredibly flexible - nothing is right or wrong. I do find house yus to be a logically (as far as that can be applied to yukkuri) evolution, and they might have even been bred especially for the pet market.
Yeah, I honestly see nothing wrong about house-yus. After all they're just small yukkuris, its not like they've grown tank treads made of bacon out of their asses or anything outlandish like that.
House yus aren't anywhere near ridiculous. Compare that to Shell Marisas or the short-lived Kotatsu-kkuris which are pretty established parts of fandom and tiny yukkuris are nothing to rock the boat.
