Anko means filling, I believe. it might more specifically refer to beanpaste (I'm no expert) but in the context of being anko-related an anko is a story pertaining to yukkuri.
Anko3781: Dosu Maricha Reboot (apparently this is an extended version of a previously written story)
A Komarisa wakes up in a strange place, but dozes off again. The last thing she says before nodding off is that she's a Dosu.
Some time later, her parents are looking for her, and find Komarisa, who proudly proclaims she's a Dosu. Being parents, they indulge her fantasy, though she quarrels with her little sister Marisa over it. That's when two boys show up.
Displaying their usual arrogance, the Komarisas make fun of the boys, Komarisa going so far as to say she'll Spark them. However, her attempt to do so is accompanied by her wetting herself, which the boys make fun of. Then one of them decides to make Komarisa a 'Dosu'.
He kills some Koreimus who're nearby and take their ribbons, kicking away their mother Reimu, and put the ribbons on Komarisa. Even as she's panicking over the smell of death, the boy decides that she's not fat enough, and starts forcing her little sister into her mouth, which he manages after a lot of pushing and stretching. To finish it off, he writes it on her body as well.
Later, the parents find Komarisa, swelled up and on the verge of insanity, and try their best to lick her back to normal as she babbles about being a Dosu.
Elsewhere, a female researcher concludes that the mental suggestion method of trying to make a Dosu is a failure.
Well the community dropping the idea made sense when you think about it. If accessories are so important, why give them to a Dosu in the first place? Yeah sure, within the same clan, its reasonable, but when you go out hunting? Having all the hunters get killed off because they ran into yukkuris from another clan and don't have your accessory because Dosu has them is a pretty quick path to extinction.

Indeed, I don't even remember if the accesories back then were from living yu's or from dead yu's that died peaceful deaths or something, or if Dosu keep them as memento of long passed away members. Because as you said, it wouldn't make sense for Dosu to get accessories from living yu's.

Because Dosu said so. I guess. Maybe it's a "Dosu is so awesome and strong and it really sucks having Reimu's precious ribbon get dirty or hurt. If Dosu holds Reimu's ribbon while Reimu picks flowers, Reimu's ribbon will stay easy!" And Dosu's like "Sure, why not? Dosu is strong and awesome after all. Also if Reimu ever leaves the clan without Dosu's permission, Reimu's fuck-fucked."

Way I see it, any clan with a dosu likely has a large territory of their own. This means plenty of hunting grounds where non-clan yukkuris aren't likely to be. Also a yukkuri that hunts/forages had better be able to fend for itself
And maybe the "border guard" keeps their accessories to prevent freakouts and misunderstandings when they meet non-clan yukkuris?
It depends on how you look at the world and how you dictate the rules of accessory giving would be. It would have to be consistent across the board so that if accessory-giving does take place, others won't freak out about it as much as the normal yukkuri fandom. Either way it's not used much lately, but I like the idea.
