This pic made me think. Reimu's pet reimu is as much its own distinct character as Yu-cat's yuka, Orphan Alichu or any of the others, and may well be the first distinct yukkuri character.
An average Yukkuri can't type on a computer, play with Flandre and survive, willingly give an anko transfusion, and run a ramen shop on its own. Reimu's Yukkuri is leaps and bounds beyond most any other.
I agree she should really have her own tag. Reimu's_Reimu, maybe?
What I'm trying to say is that there is no shared connection between the artists that they are referencing the same yukkuri. It's just "Reimu's the main character, yukkuris are cute, let's have it do whatever I want it to in this picture/flash."
Now, the Reimu yukkuri wearing french fry cups is a unique yukkuri:
So how is that any different from, say, Orphan Alichu? She's no different appearance-wise from other ko-Alices, yet we tag pics with her in it with her own tag.
Reimu is generally shown with only one Yukkuri, a Reimu. It's almost always acting in a similar fashion in each appearance, doing similar things, and being uniquely selfless and good-hearted compared to an average Yukkuri.
Orphan Alice is drawn by a single artist who has made a series with Orphan Alice as the main character. We know that it's all the same character and it's a story of a yukkuri's quest to find her parents. McDonald's Reimu has a unique appearance and has the characteristic of a young yukkuri that follows its stupid, greedy mother around. These character yukkuris have unique traits that make them distinctive characters.
You say that Reimu's Reimu willingly gave a transfusion but in that series with hungry Yuyoko none of the yukkuris were evil or display the bad characteristics seen in other comics. They're all good-natured and just want to take it easy with their kids.
You say "type on a computer" and "Play with Flandre and Survive" but you are acknowledging that there are two different mindsets here. Flandre killing and eating yukkuris comes from the sadistic, biological underworld of yukkuri-torturing comics that mainstream artists and groups don't follow. You see, in that world yukkuris are biological and make their nests underground like normal animals. The Reimu typing on a computer comes from the world where yukkuris can be as large as buildings, can fly, and can do whatever the artist wants to be funny. Get it?
Reimu's reimu does have a unique trait that sets it apart from other yukkuris, namely that it is Reimu Hakurei's reimu. No other yukkuri can have that said about them. While there are other stories that, say, feature Marisa and Alice having their own marisa, and Sakuya having a remirya, they're not as common as Reimu and her reimu (and, in Sakuya's case, not as clear just how many remirya's she has).
There are also two artists that draw stories featuring this particular yukkuri, Warekara and Makako (who probably created it). Others write and draw stories that feature it.
In one series of comics Makako drew featuring Reimu's reimu, we are introduced to the tewi-type, which tries to sell Reimu a reisen-type, and when it fails to so do punts it away. Makako also introduced the concepts of remirya's eating other yukkuris (attacking Reimu's reimu in one set of three comics) and of flandre's tormenting remiryas. Reimu's reimu also drives Marisa away by provoking her apparently deliberately.
Reimu's reimu typing on a computer and playing with Flandre and surviving may have been the originator of the reimu type's being able to flap their hair and manipulate things with it. The "Flandre" in question is also not a flandre-type yukkuri, but Flandre Scarlet, the original character who has the power to utterly destroy anything and frequently ruins her toys. (The yukkuri doesn't come out looking too good, either.) I'm not so sure they are necessarily from different mindsets, either, since the yukkuri seems about average size for a yukkuri, bouncing along instead of flying, speaking in the same way. This one just happens to live with Reimu Hakurei and is a good yukkuri, not one of the selfish asshole you and I love to see suffer.
Here's another way to look at it: in every picture with Reimu's Reimu is... Hakurei Reimu herself. Basically, the only reason to tag a picture "Reimu's Reimu" is because both the human and the yukkuri are in the same picture, and that's the only reason we know it's Reimu's Reimu. We already have the tags "Hakurei Reimu" and "Reimu" so I don't see why you feel the need for there to be a mandatory 3rd tag- it's just not necessary.
It also helps identify it if it's a reimu that Reimu isn't killing, torturing, cooking, eating, selling to the Factory, or storing for eating later (like in post #1875)
>SUN >>>You say that Reimu's Reimu willingly gave a transfusion but in that series with hungry Yuyoko none of the yukkuris were evil or display the bad characteristics seen in other comics.
Why hello there, Eirin's Smart Reimu that plotted to kill Youmu even though she wanted to help it.
>>>You say "type on a computer" and "Play with Flandre and Survive" but you are acknowledging that there are two different mindsets here.
They're from the same flash.
>>>Get it?
What the hell is your deal, man? This attitude of yours talking down to me is seriously getting annoying.

See, if you had just said this, with it being a solid point, the rest of this could've been avoided.
