There are three different zip files here. I have unrared them all into one folder- is that correct? Also, I would really like to help out with this game. I'm working on new textures right now but I've also got some better yukkuri models in Max. I need an SDK! Tell me how to hide zip files in pictures.
*00008.zip, contains the core game, *00010.zip contains alternative voices for the Yukkuris and *00011.zip contains alternative striking sounds. In order to play you just need *00008.zip.
To put a file within a picture just do this (change extensions when necessary) Windows: copy /b image.png+file.zip new_image.png Linux: cat image.png file.zip>new_image.png
Modding guide: Basics: Keep original filenames. Models: If you want to replace models, just make sure they are in Direct3D .X format and textures' file names don't have any path information. Yukkuri Textures: Use the standard textures as references for face position, unless you had made your own models. Yukkuri Postal is compatible with BMP, JPEG and PNG images. Yukkuri Sounds: Alice, Reimu and Marisa have a set of common voices. Alice has a separate set of voices for greeting and screaming. In order to ensure compatibility, sound files must be 16-bit stereo, 44100 Hz WAV files.
Easy steps: 0. One-time step: Install "Open Command Window Here", get it at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/Downloads/powertoys/Xppowertoys.mspx. 1. Open Windows Explorer. 2. Locate folder with both files to embed, picture and zip, don't open or browse it. 3. Right clic the folder and select "Open Command Window Here" at the context menu. 4. In the Command Window type the following command (replace image and zip file name with appropiate ones): copy /b image.png+file.zip new_image.png 5. Repeat as needed.
I think the zips are shuffled up. The "English dubbing" pack is the Yukkuri bubble wrap voices. 00010 contains alternate hit noises. 00011 seems to contain a bunch of redundant system files and some alternate hit noises. Maybe I'm being a dumbass and just missed something. Also, for those wondering about the basics, search yukkuri_postal_manga. A kind anon posted some instructions on the first page's comments.
Sorry to necro a very old post, but how can I download Yukkuri Postal? Any version is fine. It says here that the files are in the image, but for me the image is just a regular image. I can't download anything from it. I suppose the link was removed?
I'm interested in trying Yukkuri Postal out mainly because of the voices. I'm curious what yukkuri voices sound like, since the only ones I've ever heard are the emotionless monotone yukkuri (which I think were only the original depiction of yukkuri and not appropriate for yukkuri as they are depicted today).
