The stare they gave the viewer. That stare is a challenging stare. If you do that stare at a particularly insecure creature who won't hesitate to be violent, prepare for a fight.
I find that most manga artists give out plenty of visual cues on what comes next in his story (unless he purposely misleads you).
I'm not much a fan of predator yus, so I don't make excuses for them-especially shitheads. But it looks to me like stares of appraisal and apprehension.
I couldn't stomp Flan over just this-and if either had a gesuface, I think it was more Remi.
For what is worth, I think if you have to abuse a yukkuri, just do it, don't hide yourself behind a false sense of justice saying it's scum just because it looked at you funnily It's why I find a number of abuse comics boring: they spend pages trying to build up some lame excuse when they could've just go straight to the abuse

But it does not feel right to act violent when there is no justification. The reader wont feel good if they are just supporting an asshole just because.
Justifications are necessary which is why countries often try to provide casus belli before they start wars in order for their citizenry to support the war effort and in order to get other countries off their case for starting shit.
It might be lame or even idiotic but people need to know the whys of their actions.

Yes indeed. Many mangas have a scene that how much shit-heads should be punished and what a easy way they end incongruously. But toward a Flan? No, I do not accept it personally. When yus other than reimus or marisas are abyused I just pretend it was a wasa then everything in my life make sense.
Welp. I sort of expected this to happen after the previous gesu staredown.

Yeah right, so that's your excuse to justify stomping them. And who was that certain philanthropic guy, I wonder?
[...]This particular action of puffing up is harmless to any larger creature and possibly even smaller ones not stupid enough to be intimidated by such a gesture. I liken this to a little kid talking smack and making a face at you. While it is irritating and disrespectful, I do not really feel I should hurt him/her to get my point across, whether inflicting physical punishment is illegal or not.
[...]I am not one to kill any living creature unless I do so by reflex like swatting insects buzzing around me and on similar circumstances.

-__- I am not the anon in the story, you know. I did not stomp that flan but I expected it to happen because that is what titillates a certain type of yukkuri fan.
You think that this is the only piece where a predator was abyused? There are more pictures of such behavior before and some are not even here in OYP yet and may already be lost to oblivion.
If you want to rage at anons abusing predators go read the earlier ankos before anko1000. You'll have your fill of such material depicting abuse of flans and remilias, some justified and some not. Now whether you'd like it or feel repulsed, that is up to you.
So it was a tradition people dropped out of nowhere?
Pretty sure it was just that people got a liking on yukkuri remi/flan so tales of abuse on them weren't accepted like before That said, as of now there are more than 10600 ankos so it's very likely some of them have abuse on predators
