I think human was fulfilling every wish Maricha had to the best of his ability. Blanket for warmth, excalibur, lots of excaliburs, food, become adult, little ones, beautiful Reimu.
But Maricha was not very smart with her wishes and did not ask for any more food or wished for human to go away.
Just an assumption, can't be sure without translation.

The food was nasty flavor so I don't think that would had helped and wishing the human to go away is redundant since it seems the guy DID go away and returned some time later to find the current outcome.
I personally think Marisa just went wacko, destroyed the fake Reimu, abyused the lil ones and then died of anti-yukkuritis.
Maybe some sort of "we careful about what you wish" kind of story, since sometimes wishes can be "fullfilled" in very negative ways, but technically the wish was fulfilled.
the sweater is a loose sock, not what yukkuri dream of when thinking sweaters
excalibur wasn't a special one-of-a-kind sword, because she got a whole tube of excaliburs
the food was actually low grade cheap stuff, not real happiness food (it was happiness to her because she was a stray) (she also got a whole bag of it)
she became an adult only in body, her accessory is still small
the friends are food-grade yukkuri that weren't even woken up and the partner is fake
So Marisa found herself with all her wishes fullfilled, but not the way she expected, leaving her with nothing, no goals and no affection (especially since the human has to go to work). She then died somehow after a day, an empty shell of a yukkuri.

This really got me thinking. Yukkuri fans are expert sadists...

Kinda returned a bit a go because I went "why not?".
And I think what EasyV described isn't some proof of "expert sadismn".
Is more like a super old idea always used on many forms of media, specially while dealing with the actual genies of the lamp and not the Disney one, that or the infamous monkey paw wishing thing.
Basically you wish stuff only that stuff is fulfilled in very negative ways be it taking advantage of loopholes, generalizations, technicallity or doing so in a way that would bite you in the ass.
So you have this stories of someone (human or not) finding some force that grants them wishes but does so in such way you end up with a bad end.
The only real difference in this story is that, well, from our perspective it's very mundane, but maybe for the yukkuri the "power" of mister human fulfilling those wishes is way beyond their comprehension, they already have a hard time grasping how we do things, or why we get angry when they fuck our shit up even if we try to explain them. So a Human that suddenly hands over all their wishes maybe seen like a Genie, but well, like I said, this is more the traditional troll genie that leads to bad ends because you weren't careful.
TLDR; this is less of sadismn and more of Yukkuris yet again being used for a moral, if still having that "yukkuri are screwed" thing that yukkuri works have.
It's funny but on the more developed works that aren't styled like "True Happiness" you can find some sort of ironic aesop on them, only with more ultraviolent and less sympathetic scenarios because of the dark comedy nature of this foodstuff golems.

I agree with the "she became an adult only in body" theory, because I think that the yukkuri suddenly grew into adult, but its mind is still kinda koyukkuri, so it probably could not cope with such huge changes.

Only the ones that are in it for *that* sort of kink. And only for fictional creatures that they can fantasize doing downright nasty stuff if they happen to be the author.
If there is an opportunity to do actual real life nasty stuff to real creatures most would probably be very squeamish in doing so and would require a *lot* of *positive* reinforcement to let them let go of their moral constraints that most humane and civilized society has imposed upon them. And there is that nagging feeling for most civilized and educated members of the community that doing acts of great cruelty to a living or even a simulacrum of a living creature *feels* wrong.

I am more with the theory that 9th is just writing his/her story to appeal to his/her target audience and does not heed any previous depictions of yukkuris aside from them being useless and prone to dying.

Well it even applies to fellow humans in the "fiction vs reality" thing, since people don't mind in games and such to do a lot of things that are outright considered warcrimes in real life, an obvious example is all usage of "elemental damage" specially on guns. Trying to set someone on fire or somehow poison them in combat is considered cruel and immoral in combat standards, basically if you're forced to kill you should aim to clean and quick ways.
And it doesn't matter who you apply this force to, since even in real life, if a bandit attacks you and you use some acidic round to make them melt inside screaming in agony, people would be as scared of you as they were of the bandit for obvious reasons, unlike on fiction on which, unless brutality vs non brutality is part of the plot or it's a more narrative work with actual character development and reaction, nobody complains.

I'm sticking with the idea of this being the metaphorical version of the "becareful with wish granting things" stories, only adapted to yukkuris and using very "mundane" way, from a human in the yu world perspective, of fullfilling those wishes.

Ditto. "over-easiness?" No. Sorry, doesn't work for me. We already have a result of what too much easiness does: turns them into spoiled shitheads.
I mean, watch her reaction each time the guy gives Marisa something, then explains the gift. Her reaction is like, "... oh."
It is more probable that she died because she starved to death. After all if her body grew but her other characteristics are still of a koyukkuri, she'll be very, very hungry after having eaten 1 measly food pellet. The stabbing of the food stocks is marisa trying to extract the yus to eat. Noodle bowl reimu is damaged because marisa took a bite out of her because of her hunger.

I love these little nuggets of philosophical discussion which crop up from time to time!
A question from a relative beginner into the lore: wouldn't the result of a Marisa experiencing ultimate easiness be the creation of a Dosu?
It depends on what form of easiness they attained.
Comfort? They'll probably not turn into a dosu, they'll turn entitled shitheads instead?
A genuine desire to make certain other yukkuri or creatures be better (take it easier)? In most stories this seems to be the case and they just get corrupted even further as they struggle to come into grips with their importance as a dosu.
Of course there are dosus that become so because of a random mutation or because they inherited those genes.
The shithead got everything that he wanted but end up having nothing, All his goals are met but there was no longer any purpose to live so he decided to kill himself
It is disturbing that she stabbed those small yukkuris to death. A shithead died before she could menace the society.
Still, i agree with EasyV's explanation. She expected those wishes to be grand and glorious ones yet she once saw them being nothing special she suffered a mental breakdown.
Perhaps, is it "Over-easiness syndrome", that death to take it too easy?Get on with her, okay? Good night.Thought I can play with her for at least several days...
But, it was still good for killing time, I'm gonna capture another one on the way to home.In the next morning, Marisa had taken it easy forever.
Marisa should had taken easy perfectly, given her all wishes.
