I mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, it's certainly fresher than a lot of the bog standard abyuse and FF. OTOH, the ending falls flat because of the lack of build up or drama. Mister takes home a random ko only to find it to be complete gutter trash. There is no touch and go; the ko is just a one dimensional flat character from start to finish. Memorializing the thing at the end is just a waste because it never did anything meaningful or had an impact on anyone's life.
The story although nice, I don't think it have much value or practical. Why bother all of that just to finish off one little shithead and even having a meaningful memorial event for that thing? I get that anon is a nice guy but even nice guys don't do all of those process just to discard a tiny little shithead that nobody ever think about stopping him if he did something disgusting to that ko, heck even Patchy or the other Marisa (which is very nice) didn't plan to stop him if he did so.
The story hasn't been fully translated so some details are lost, but I believe mister here is a guy who tries to help yukkuri survive by taking them from the street into his home. The yukkuri had a terrible personality, but it's not always the case as implied by silver badge Marisa's purple eye, the same color of the gummy candy used to heal the eye of the now-dead little one.
I get what you are trying to say EasyV, but what I mean is after he knew that that thing is beyond teaching and redemption, why did he still act so nice toward it and even having euthanasia and memorial event for the stray koMarisa? He didn't and wouldn't need to do all of that process just for some shitbag that kept trash-talking and acted rudely and ungratefully toward him? Heck, even Patchy understood that there is no need to behave nicely to it, and the pet koMarisa also realized that as well, even though she is still somewhat against it but she knew that it had to be done.
Ah, I see. Then I guess that not everyone is comfortable to dispose yukkuri like they are generic garbage regardless of personality. I mean, even before disposing of it, Mister asked Patche if it was really impossible to educate the little one.

Behaving nicely is more for the benefit of Patchy and Marisa. Besides, no need to go the torture route if you personally get nothing from it -- it'd be a waste.
But in other things, all scum yukkuris go to Yu-hell, but i truly believe that there's scum Yu's that are capable of fight back their evil nature and redeem their souls somehow............
