I dunno, I'm getting pretty numb to this, since this is the same story I've seen before. I know it's supposed to be tragic, but they're all tragic, in almost all the same ways.
Also, would be interesting if mud actually didn't dissolve yukkuri, since the dirt is too dense.

Still less generic than "Yus are living a happy life, then mean mr human comes and kills them all because he can". Personally I like the stories where the good, caring and in a way smart yukkuri overlook one small detail that eventually leads all of them to death.
Also, the artist is new which is always good. Let's hope he develops.

Agreed. I just wish it didn't always lead them all to death. I wish it would lead to a deeper story.
It feels more akin to the classic "Yukkuri vs Nature" stories where the whole point of the story is that they're all going to die at the end just because. Given by this artist's track record I'd say that isn't too far from their intention. I mean one of the Reimus get killed by a bottle of OJ. That's death by irony right there.
