That's what I was doing yeah. In that case at least, perhaps due to the extreme values, the fall damage just wasn't resetting after picking them out of the air.
Why can I only move things along the horizontal axis, and why can't I actually place things where I click? Both of these issues add an unnecessary level of tedium to this game.

You are using the 'pick up' function, yeah? For moving things, use the Right Mouse Button. 'Pick up' is for 'fly in the sky' with yukkuris, not to move stuff around.
You can't place things on top of each other most of the time, but as long as you use RMB to move them, it's very easy.
Strange findings continuing to unfold with explosive testing. I'm finding if I clean away all corpses as quickly as possible, it's possible for komarisas to SURVIVE minutes of falling somehow. One of them arrived with mould, wounded not from the fall but from sheer hunger of continued free fall with no food. I have no idea what's going on!
Also it looks like when you put pants on the bomb, it will spontaneously revert to original size before ballooning up again.
OJ IV: prevents them from dying lighter: when you pick them up they bottom wiggle. and then you can burn their bottoms. feather: tickle their anyaru to make them shit
In time? The current Patche is disgusting, and comes only with the modded version. Are you saying it is your unfinished project? Because it looks like an unfinished project (it looks really off, like those blonde-reimus)
*Turn current toilets into nests. Nests are places of softness and easyness for yukkuri, used to cushion the blow of birth, sleeping and relaxation. A family can have a flag on a nest, which means they own it. Other yukkuri will see this and react accordingly (niceheads will leave it alone, shitheads might try to steal it) while newcomers may be totally ignorant, leading to conflict. A yukkuri that sleeps somewhere that isn't a nest might have increased stress.
*New toilets, basically flat, rectangular boxes with sheets if disposable paper on them. You can click on them and it'll rip off to the next sheet. With the product chute, yen could be used to buy better toilets. Some with medicated wipes that automatically wipe the bums of koyukkuri, or at the very least help reduce the spread of mold dramatically.
*Bugs for hunting. Ideally there would be a drop down menu letting you select the type. Easy prey like caterpillars, or some tough predators for abyuse like scorpions who will slowly tear their way through yukkuri like butter.
*Some new toys? Like for instance, toothpicks for Marisa types to use as little weapons. Good for hunting, or defending a homestead from a shithead/rapist.
I love the ideas, but it should also be added a bigger yukkarium before those, it is already crowded, imagine with more stuff for them to get stuck into
All I really want is some way for shit to go away on its own so I can have this running in the background for more than 10 minutes without finding out everything has been turned into mold and uneasiness.
Also is it just me, or are Alices shit for cleaning their young and not getting mold?
Personally I've never noticed any one breed being more or less inattentive about cleaning their young, and never noticed one that just straight-up refused to take care of its offspring.
