House-yus got owned by mister spider eat easy mister !
That is a HUGE spider! You figure adult house-yus are the same size as a regular ko. So about tennis ball size. Even if they're on the smaller size of a golf ball, that spider is at the least, larger than an adult's hand!

Still not sure why a tarantula would attack a house yu considering reimus and marisas are filled with cream. It would make more sense to go after the yus filled with meat considering they are essentially carnivores.
While it may appear to be of that size, it looks more like a wolf spider. I've seen a few of them with legs spanning wide enough to scale the width of my hand.

On closer inspection, you are correct. It does seem to be a will spider. Not that it's much better than a taranshula
this is amazing. love how every yukkuri is reacting in a unique, ineffective way - particularly the one puffing up from behind.
I feel more justified in hating house yu because they seem to have even less intelligence than normal yukkuri, often seemingly like they're insects or rats. When a normal yukkuri invades a home, it rationalizes it (albiet really poorly). House yus just seem to infest homes like mindless bugs, they don't have any concept of what a human is or that they're inside a house.
its as if some artists thought, 'how can we make yukkuri even more hatable?.' You might not abuse a yukkuri, but you would be insane to tolerate a colony of filthy house yu in your house.

im guessing the spider doesn't know it is not meat

i agree with you the art is great and ever since Aglet introduced the house yu bulling and rapping kos, They are my least favorite as well

Ironically, I believe -this- was what brought forth the invention of House Yus.

I don't know, I would think a spider would be able to sense the difference between edible and non-edible creatures. It would make more sense to predate on remilias since they actually are filled with meat. OTOH, you don't see house remis.
It's definitely a wolf spider, I've had them show up at the house a few times. I HATE wolf spiders, tarantulas are at least tolerable in appearance. I'll have to take saline's and catperv's word on quality of the yu's reactions because I can't stand to look at this beyond the thumbnail, unless someone wants to put a censored version up, lol.
Well, spiders can't "eat" meat in general. To my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong), they spit a digestive acid/enzyme that liquifies their prey's insides and suck out the liquids. As long as yukkuris are nutritious enough, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't eat them. Bean paste is at decent in protein, although it lacks in every other nutritional aspect.
I think insects are mostly protein anyway. so as long as the spider can disolve the yu, it shouldn't have any trouble eating them. Spiders need more than just protein and fat though, so i don't think it would go for yukurris unless it was short on other sources. So this scenario works. There is less avaliable prey inside a house so the spider took what it could get.
Could just be the spider instinctively tries to eat a bunch of small, helpless bugs.
I'd love to see a followup picture where the spider has cocooned up the remaining family in its nest as food for its babies who are developing in a pile of eggs in front of the terrified yukkuri.
I know wolf spiders don't do that - they carry them on their backs, I think. We call them "white tails" in australia and they are famous for scaring kids everywhere by crawling over bedding and by just being really aggressive. hate these little pricks!
