Anko2948: We are all living
Anon is heading home with sleep on his mind when he runs into two yukkuris who demand food from him. He directs them to the garbage area, but they say they're pet yukkuris (though Anon only sees holes where the badge must have been, meaning that they were abandoned) and thus can't eat garbage. Since they don't have badges, he calls them strays and kicks Marisa into a wall, where she slides down with a small trail.
Still, she's pretty much okay, and demands to know what he's doing her, since she's a living thing. Anon asks them to show proof that they're alive. They first say they can roll and bounce, but Anon points out a non-living ball does the same. Reimu tries singing (with a bit of arrogance for doing it without food), but Anon just replays it back from his cellphone.
After panicking, they turn his question back on him, but Anon shows proof by letting them hear his heartbeat, which they find to be an easy sound. However, they can't hear it in themselves. Anon tells that anything living has a heartbeat, so they aren't alive. Besides, there aren't any living manjuus. They go into a frenzy because of that.
Anon tells them to close their eyes and imagine... next to them are similar pastries, and the stupid yukkuris delude themselves into believing that. Finding it interesting, he tells them that one of the imaginary manjuus got sold, and that being sold makes them happy, and the yukkuris believe it entirely. After he tells them that being uneasy means not getting sold, he realizes that they no longer respond to his voice or touch, like they've become real manjuus, and leaves them there.
He returns home to his bodied Marisa, who asks him whether he wants dinner or bath first, but he tells her he's going to sleep first. Recalling what happened earlier, he asks Marisa the same question, and she replies she's alive because she can feel pain, an answer she heard from the TV, which he admits he never thought of either. After reminding her to change her into her pajamas, Marisa later finds him still in his work clothes, and thinks she'll lecture him for it later.
