Another term for stray yukkuri, who in cities tend to congregate in the gutters. Use for non-domesticated yukkuris that live in the city.

Most gutter-trash yukkuris are either wild yukkuri who came to city or pets who were abandoned by their owners. In the form of the former, it consists of yukkuris who came to city, hoping to get adopted by humans or shitheads who in their delusion, believe that they will be given food and sweets for free.

Living in the city provides a different set of challenges compared to the wilderness. For one, the floor is made out of ashpalt which is rough to a yukkuri's skin and get really hot during the day. This is the reason most strays congregate in places with soil such as parks or riverbeds. There also usually less cover which leaves the yukkuris more vulnerable during droughts and rain unlike in the tree-filled forests. The presence of vehicles also present a problem for yukkuris as most people don't hesitate to run yukkuris over unlike with stray animals. But of course the biggest threat to a city-dwelling yukkuri is humans, in which a good chunk of them loves to abuse yukkuris for fun, especially children.

Of course living in the city has benefits too. Firstly the ashpalt floor is generally only problematic for koyukkuri or abandoned yus. Most experienced strays have adapted to tolerate the rough surface and have learned to avoid it during hot days. There's also significantly less wild animals, and while a lot of humans love abuse most doesn't bother going out of their way to attack stray yukkuri unless the yukkuri provokes them first. There's also a constant supply of food in the form of garbage throughout the year and thus unlike wild yukkuris, city strays tend to not need to hibernate. The constant supply of food also causes stray yukkuris to not compete for food as much as wild yukkuris.

Unlike wild yukkuris, city strays doesn't congregate to clans. This is because outside of parks, there's a general lack of avalaible housing in the city as unlike the wild with it's abudant caves and trees, the only somewhat reliably avalaible house for a city stray is a thrown away cardboard box, which isn't even a good house material as it's very prone to destruction. As such most stray yukkuri tend to not have any neighbors. Often in the city if 2 yukkuris from different families encounter eachother is because one of them is eyeing the other's box to steal. Some works do show that city yukkuris can congregate into mafia-like criminal organizations but in most canons stray yukkuris aren't smart enough for stuff like that

In most cities, gutter-trash problem becomes so problematic, humans usually form bands to exterminate strays to keep yukkuri population to an acceptable level.

For non-domesticated yus that lives outside of a city (countryside, forest, mountains, farms, etc) use wild yukkuri
