I do understand why calm Reimu is the most expensive.
What I don't get is why puffed up Reimu is cheaper then crying Reimu.
Easily done transformation: Happy -> Puffed up Happy -> Crying Puffed up -> Crying
Somewhat easily done transformation: Puffed up -> Happy (Drop in the cost of snack)
So crying must be the cheapest one, not the puffed up. Because it takes some effort to turn her in other conditions, while you can buy happy Reimu and quickly turn her condition into angry or broken, as you wish.
So in my opinion prices should be Happy > Angry > Crying
------------------------------------------- But this silly question have nothing to do with the awesomness of this picture
If they were real, they wouldn't be stuck in the same state. And the prices wouldn't depend on the state they are in _at this very moment_ but, for example the state they spend the most of time in.
For example, the 400 Yen Reimu could shout commands and obscenities the most of time and then puff up, while the 450Y one would just cry softly a bit every now and then.
That said, I don't get it either. Seems like the 400Y one is prideful and angry, it'd be more fun breaking it...
The pricing also takes consideration of their age (remember that the older wild/untrained yukkuris get, the more sarcastic they behave, the less value they might sell for. The reverse can be said about mukyus or trained yukkuris)
Remember, it's not as if they're crying/puffed/normal ALL the time. This is only one moment in their day, the prices probably reflect how well they behave over time.
the bottom right (450) reimu has a comment that says "cries a lot", maybe thats why its cheaper.
The bottom left reimu says something like "can sing", thats why its expensive.
and it looks like the top right (500) and middle (400) reimu were originally the same price, but nobody bought the middle one and it got older so the price was lowered. I don't understand what the kanji means though...
