aquatic marisa
A specific Aquatic Yukkuri variant of Marisa that uses her witch hat as a boat to navigate the surface of water. Despite the aquatic trait applied to them, Aquatic Marisas will commonly maintain their fatal weakness to water, prompting them to finish what they need to do quickly.
Certain questions were raised whether or not such marisas should really be considered aquatic since they die quickly if they fell to water. Even with their hats, these so-called "aquatic marisas" have very limited mobility on water and often drown with slightest distraction or error. Life expectancy of aquatic marisas are considered even lower compared to the other common yukkuris.
It's unclear what even is the benefit of aquatic marisas living on water. Whenever they bend over to eat they risk capsizing and drowning. When they shit they tend to have trouble getting away from their excrement. They risk sinking if they ate too much and become fat. They have difficulty doing rub-rub or mating as it also risks capsizing.
The aforementioned problems can be solved by going to land which aquatic marisas are capable of. However aquatic marisas tend to dislike being on land. This is because most of them are unable to pick up their hats from the water and as such when venturing land they will have to leave behind their accessory which like all yukkuris they're uncomfortable with. Worse of all, if their hat isn't secured and the water isn't still their hat can drift away and the marisa will be unable to return to water.
While some humans pick aquatic marisas as pets, such creatures require even more care compared to other pet yukkuris because of the reasons mentioned above.
NOTE: Regular marisas are also capable of using their hats as boats. These are different from aquatic marisas, they're just regular marisas that swims like an aquatic marisa. The main way to tell the difference is that a regular marisa would need to use a stick or branch as a paddle, while a true aquatic marisa can "swim" their hats even without any paddles.
