Predator Nitoris are often depicted as making a creepy looking face when hunting for a prey (blank white/red eyes, a glasgow smile and sometimes bares her fangs). They primarily prey on aquatic marisas but are willing to eat any yukkuri who fell into water. Like Remilia or Flandres, if one wants to own a Nitori as a pet you must feed her live yukkuri as food.

Their method of predation varies between stories. Some depict them as acting like the shark in the Jaws movie where they lurk beneath the surface and then suddenly drag a swimming aquatic marisa underwater to drown them. Others show them acting like crocodiles, jumping out and grabbing into a yukkuri near a riverside and proceed to thrash back and forth to rip them apart. Some stories also depict them like piranhas, operating in schools and when a yukkuri fell into water they'll surround it and each one takes turns to have a bite.

Despite being an aquatic yukkuris, Nitoris are capable of surviving on land. Even on land they're typically stronger and faster than the average yukkuri and have no problem chasing and preying on land-dwelling yukkuris.

Unlike remilias and flandres, most yukkuris doesn't seem to inherently fear Nitoris. Adult yukkuris who lives on lakesides or riversides tend to be aware of them and taught their children to avoid getting too close to water sources but otherwise most yukkuris doesn't seem to realize Nitoris exist.

On family friendly stories they feed on cucumbers instead of being predators and are shown to get along or even mate with aquatic marisas instead of preying on them.
