I'm guessing the clan figured out Chen, and all of her lies, hm?
Nope, quite the opposite actually.
The clan lived in a naturally sheltered area (by the thich vegetation growth) that would conceal them from any scouting predators, so the fact that a Flan assaulted them raised suspicion as to who led the predator here. And Chen used this opportunity to frame Marisa as the culprit. Her reasoning was poorly thought out and conflicting in itself, but to the survivors whose minds are clouded with grief and rage, they were quickly acknowledged as the truth. And now the angry mob sets out for Marisa--

Even in the yukkuri world, misinformation, sensationalism and propaganda is one hell of a scary thing when manipulated by a smart yukkuri with a malicious motive. On the other hand, we humans too: we may think of ourselves as smart and unbiased, but in reality we're just as blind as the dumb manjuu. News corporations have done more than an excellent job in shaping our minds and viewpoints to the point that we regard the truly neutral, truthful information as blatant nonsense and excuses to apologize for a figure that we've been told to be malevolent and authoritarian.
I like these complex "strategical" stories. Every once in a while it's nice to read a story that isn't just human abuse yu's or yu's killing eachother over little things.
