Shouldn't it be aliased instead, puff_puff --> puffing_up (to finally get rid of that silly "all tags must be in yukkurispeak" idea once and for all)?

Once and for all? Don't be silly. We have a number of yukkurispeak tags. I just got tired of bringing them up since you guys seemed so intent of adopting them.

puff_puff is aliased to puffing_up. same with all that stretch-stretch nonsense. Once you approve the alias job, if someone else posts something new you'll have to re-approve the job to get the tag to get aliased.
It's hard to think of all the different ways people tag something that should be aliased to everything, the idea is to make everything more or less uniform and fix the misspellings, so chill out and point out the inconsistencies so we can actually fix the stupid tags.
Also not sure what your wildcard search is suppose to point out. It gets a big variety of tags and nothing that I care to look through with the amount of time that I have.
hot, hwottttch, and burned/burning should be aliased to either burned/burning or create a burns tag and alias them all into one package.
I hate the "hot" tag, I have half a mind to blank it. It's a very subjective and ambiguous tag, and it can be describing a nice day in summer, a spicy food or the office lady from sanaeaki's comics.
Hwottttch is a joke tag, and I like burned over burning/burns. We'd have to see what "hot" describes (hopefully its all temperature stuff) and then get them re-tagged appropriately.

Wasn't trying to make more work for you, just pointing out a cluster of joke/redundant/vague tags that I left alone since I was told not to arbitrarily delete tags without community input and I didn't want to make a dozen new threads asking about each one.

That said, most of these tags are only used for one or a few pictures each. They can all be fixed manually and by people other than poweryoga.

I sorta imagine the hot tag(s) describing situations like post #42344 and #40440, but the "hot" tag tend to be used for thing like post #41678, post #2781, or post #29936.

ah ok, i'll look through this some time tomorrow evening, that's when I get home. *wh* just gets everything that has wh in it, so there's a ton of other tags in there as well.

Yeah, those were just the obvious ones (with the exception of maybe the why tag). Tags like artist tags, character tags and the what tag can obviously be left alone.

why not merging it into "plugged up"?
do we want to identify specific kinds of "plugged up"? I'm leaning towards no considering how not-often we use these things.

Lets start using "plugged_up" for all of these. You can probably search for a lot of these using a mix of tags without being so specific as having 3 separate tags for each one of these scenarios. Sounds good?
Sounds okay with me, just create a descriptive wiki page for it when the tag is create and it be good.
BTW, request an tag alias of unknown_28 -> kupamomiaki/kupamomi-aki because of post #43052
