Yukkuri Diary is a Unity-based game by BlueSnow made as a successor to the earlier title, Yukkuri Breeding Observation. The gameplay is similar to games like Pou and Tamagochi. It's also the current Yukkuri-based video game that it's made using 3D graphics.
The game was released exclusive to Android devices. A PC release was made but it was cancelled for unknown reasons.
The player, from ambiguous gender, can act in one of two modes: Love and Violent. These modes can be switched at any time during the game.
The game inclues the classic Reimu and Marisa-types alongside Cirno, Alice, Chen, Patchouli, Youmu and Sakuya-types. Predatory types include Remilia and Flandre-types, although they act friendly if their rank is S and they don't attack Sakuya-types, even if their rank is low.
Alongside the common Yukkuri, the Android release also has Deibu-like yus. They still act like the common Yukkuri tho.
The objective of the game is to rise shitheads(C-B Rank) and turn them into more good-behaving niceheads(A-S Rank)
Actions the player can take in Love mode include feeding, petting, putting yukkuri on a suii, and such. The player can also remove the yukkuri's accessory in this mode, doing so causes other yukkuri to change their behavior towards the accessory-less yukkuri, potentially either reforming it or outright killing it. The player can pet yukkuri and give them pet clothes.
In Violent mode, the player can abyuse the yukkuri they find or own. This includes levels of punishment ranging from flicking the forehead and even psychological abuse, all the way up to fatal punishments like burning to death.
Points are earned by doing various actions, and by selling yukkuri to the pet store; points can be spent to purchase yukkuri in the vending machine, rather than catching them in the wild. Initially, the player has zero points, and must catch and take home each yukkuri they want to raise from the wild.
Uniquely, this game features extensive voice work, with both the player and the various breeds of yukkuri vocalizing differently depending on the current situation and the actions being taken.
Exclusive to the Android release, the player can go to the Yukkuri heaven and play and care with the Yukkuri that died peacefully and went flying straight to heaven. The game also contains a Yukkuri hell where the yukkuris that died horrifically either abused or killed by fire are there.
